project brief
We delivered an insight-driven brand transformation for an engineering design and construction firm located in Long Island, New York, following its acquisition by a global AEC company. The rebrand brought alignment with the parent company’s brand, which facilitated ease in cross-selling, geographic expansion, and national brand recognition. The project presented several unique challenges. First, due to strict licensing requirements, we managed brand consistency across multiple entities that were required to retain separate company names. Second, though the majority of planning, meetings, and work were conducted virtually (2020-2021), this remote environment did not hinder collaboration or strategic alignment. Finally, the engineering firm’s brand story dated back to the 1800s, establishing a powerful legacy and customer trust. This required a careful and respectful approach to brand integration, with the explicit goal of leveraging the firm’s history rather than erasing it. The brand integration and marketing strategy improved operational efficiencies for both firms within six months of the acquisition. We successfully honored the acquired company’s history while strategically transitioning the brand and positioning it for future growth. Following brand and website design and development, we managed content strategy and execution as well as PR, technology stack services, and BD support for LKB from 2021 to 2024.

Before acquisition, LKB was primarily focused on projects in the greater New York area. After the acquisition, it was critical to reposition the brand so that all of our engineering disciplines were represented on a national stage—while still retaining some of the identity that was important to our legacy team. Lisa and her team did an outstanding job striking that balance. They worked closely with our in-house marketing group and practitioners to redefine the brand, rebuild the website, and provide the tools our expanded team needed to grow together. Most importantly, they helped us quickly create a platform where our professionals could cross-sell services across disciplines and regions with confidence. Their partnership was instrumental in making the transition a success.
